Lox-8 Sealant

LOX-8 sealants by Fluoramics are designed for applications requiring direct exposure to powerful oxidisers and extreme acids, such as water treatment, aerospace, agricultural and medical industries. These sealants are capable of withstanding high pressures and cryogenic deep-freeze temperatures, as well as prevent stainless-steel galling. They are designed in accordance with NASA & BAM certifications and formulated for both wet and dry applications to deliver oxygen-safe, waterproof and chemically inert properties. Selected models further adhere to NSF approvals for use in food & beverages processing facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to apply the sealant on threads?

  • Clean the male and female threads to remove dirt or oil.
  • Starting from one to two threads back from the end of the male fitting, use a finger to liberally apply LOX-8 sealant for filling the threads.
  • Wipe off excess sealant.
  • Be careful not to over-tighten fittings. Materials like plastic, PVC or cast iron may crack.
  • To re-apply, wipe surfaces with a lint-free cloth or Acetone wipe (as needed).

Does LOX-8 paste prevent the galling of stainless steel fittings?

Yes, LOX-8 paste is an excellent anti-galling agent and is formulated to protect and lubricate stainless steel threaded connections.

What are the types of bottled gases for which LOX-8 paste is an effective thread sealant?
