Working Mechanism
- Eaton BR Series plug-in circuit breakers are plugged into the circuit breaker space of BR Series panel or panelboard and then connected to the electrical circuit using a set of terminal screws.
- The circuit breaker is in the "on" position when the electrical circuit is functioning normally to allow electricity to flow through the circuit.
- In case of an overload or short circuit, the circuit breaker trips (opens) & interrupts the flow of electricity, protecting the circuit from damage & reducing the chance of an electrical fire.
- After the issue has been resolved, the circuit breaker can be reset by pushing the breaker handle to the "on" position. This restores power to the circuit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a shunt trip?
Selected Eaton BR Series plug-in circuit breakers feature a shunt trip device to mechanically trip the breaker remotely on applying power (from an external source) to their shunt trip terminals.
What are the current ratings for these Eaton BR Series plug-in circuit breakers?
Eaton BR Series plug-in circuit breakers have current ratings ranging from 15 to 90
What are arc fault interrupt circuit breakers?
Arc fault interrupter circuit breakers protect circuits from fires caused due to arcing faults in electrical wiring. Arc faults or arcs of electricity between the two points are generated in case of a break in the normal path of an electrical current. It is duedue to factors like damaged or frayed wiring, loose connections or damaged electrical outlets.
