REED Instruments R9900-NIST IAQ (indoor air quality) meter is ideal for simultaneous monitoring of carbon dioxide, relative humidity & temperature in schools, factories, greenhouses, hospitals, hotels, offices and other locations where carbon dioxide levels are high. It can also calculate wet bulb & dew point temperatures and statistical weighted averages like TWA (8-hour time-weighted average) & STEL (15-minute short-term exposure limit). This R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter comes with batteries and a hard carrying case.
Features:
- REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter offers an easy-to-read backlit triple LCD for showing carbon dioxide, relative humidity & temperature simultaneously.
- Its low drift, non-dispersive infrared carbon dioxide sensor is equipped with a user-adjustable audible alarm that produces an audible warning alarm in case of excessive carbon dioxide concentrations.
- This meter is supplied power using 4 AA batteries with a battery life of approximately 24 hours under continuous usage.
- The unit also has a low battery indicator & auto shut off (after 20 mins) features to save battery life.
- Its data hold function freezes the data / reading on the display for showing the measurement for a longer time.
- This IAQ meter has maximum, minimum and average functions to measure 14 to 140 degrees F (-10 to 60 degrees C) temperature, 0 to 99.9% RH humidity and 0 to 5000 ppm carbon dioxide levels.
Compatible Accessories:
- REED Instruments CA-52A Soft Carrying Case: This carrying case has a main instrument compartment to fit this REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter and a side pouch for fitting required accessories.
- REED Instruments Humidity Calibrators: These R9933, R9975 & R9980 calibrators allow manual humidity calibration in this IAQ unit.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. How to calibrate this REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter for carbon dioxide measurement?
A.
- This meter is calibrated in a fresh well-ventilated area, in sunny weather, at a standard 400 ppm carbon dioxide concentration.
- Switch on the meter & press the CAL & MODE buttons at the same time.
- '400ppm' & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 5 minutes to indicate manual calibration activation.
- Carbon dioxide calibration is complete when the blinking stops. The meter should automatically return to the normal measuring mode.
- Turn off the meter at any time to stop the calibration.
Q. What are the ideal environmental conditions for this REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter?
A. This REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter operates at temperatures ranging from 14 to 122 degrees F (-10 to 50 degrees C) and humidity ranging from 10 to 85%. It can be stored at temperatures ranging from 14 to 140 degrees F (-10 to 60 degrees C).
Q. How to calibrate this REED Instruments R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter for humidity measurement?
A.
- The humidity sensor is manually calibrated at 25 degrees C using compatible 33% & 75% salt solutions (calibrators).
- Switch the meter on & plug its humidity sensor probe into the 33% salt bottle.
- Press down the CAL & DP/WBT buttons to start the humidity calibration.
- Calibrating value of 33% (32.7% if at 25?C) & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 60 minutes to indicate manual calibration activation.
- After completing the 33% calibration, plug the sensor probe into the 75% salt bottle and press the ENTER button to start 75% calibration.
- Calibrating value of 75% (75.2% if at 25?C) & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 60 minutes to indicate the calibration process.
- To calibrate only 33%, press the ESC button after the 33% calibration is complete.
- To calibrate only 75%, press the UP or DOWN button after pressing the CAL & DP/WBT buttons.
- Turn off the meter at any time to stop the calibration.
