Working Mechanism
- Position the sensor probe tip within a 1/4 inch of the suspected leak source.
- Slowly move the sensor probe around the possible leakage points.
- If the unit detects a leak source an audible tone will sound and visual indicators will light on the LED leak indicator display.
Features
- REED Instruments combustible gas leak detectors have audible (buzzer / tick) and visual (tri-colour LED) alarm indicators to notify about gas leaks.
- Their compact design make them suitable for one-hand operation.
- These detectors allow changing sensitivity (high to low) for user convenience.
- They feature a 15 / 16-inch gooseneck probe to reach tight spots.
Compatible Accessories
- Earphones: These detectors can be equipped with earphones for leak detection in noisy environments.
- REED Temporary Leak Repair: This is a handy tool to seal the leak source temporarily.
- REED S-100B Replacement Sensor: This sensor is an ideal replacement for the brand's damaged C-383 gas leak detector.
- REED TGS2611-COO Replacement Sensor is suitable to replace the brand's damaged R9300 gas leak detector.
Standards and Approvals
- NIST Caliberated
- CE
- RoHS
Frequently Asked Questions
How to replace the sensor on these REED Instruments leak detectors?
- Turn off the instrument and remove the upper tip guard.
- Pull up the sensor from its tip housing.
- Place the new sensor by pressing it straight into the housing.
- Reassemble the instrument in reverse order.
What is the response time of these gas detectors?
REED Instruments offer gas leak detectors with response time as low as 1 second.
What is the Lower Explosive Limit?
Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) refers to the minimum concentration at which a combustible gas, when mixed with air, develops the ability to ignite when exposed to an ignition source. The LEL is expressed as a fuel-air ratio, a percentage of gas in air or as parts per million (PPM).
