Working Mechanism
- Eaton miniature circuit breaker opens the circuit when the current passing through the circuit exceeds the pre-determined setting, thereby protecting the equipment from fire hazards.
- When there is an overload in the current, the bi-metallic strip (present in the breaker) heats up and bends.
- This bending action causes the trip mechanism to activate and open the circuit breaker, thus interrupting the current flow.
- During an event of a short circuit, a large number of current flows through the circuit breaker, causing a strong magnetic field.
- This magnetic field causes the trip mechanism to activate and open the circuit breaker to stop the current flow.
Features
- These MCBs feature a thermal-magnetic trip that offers protection from both short circuits and overcurrent conditions.
- They come with a current limiting design that provides fast short-circuit interruption, which helps reduce let-through energy and prevents damage to the circuit.
- They incorporate DIN rail mounting that offers hassle-free installation and eliminates loose connection against vibration and thermal cycling.
- They also include a trip-free toggle mechanism, colour-coded breaker status indicator and IP20 finger & hand touch safe enclosure providing additional safety to personnel and equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a C curve breaker?
C curve miniature circuit breakers are applied where the loads have a small amount of in-rush current on start-up. These breakers trip between 6-10 times the rated current in such short circuit conditions.
What are FAZ-NA Series miniature circuit breakers used for?
These FAZ-NA Series miniature circuit breakers are ideal for branch circuit device protection and can also be reversed fed for maximum protection of personnel, installation and plant.
What is the purpose of trip-free toggle mechanism?
The trip-free toggle mechanism ensures that the circuit breaker cannot be manually held in the closed position if it has tripped due to overcurrent or a short circuit. It will automatically open and trip to the off position even if the toggle handle is held in the closed position, thus protecting the equipment against hazards.
