Working Mechanism
- The valve's pilot remains closed until the downstream pressure reaches the unload setting.
- The pilot then opens and pressurises the unloader valve.
- This pressure forces the unloader valve to open and vent the excess air from the compressor to the atmosphere.
- As the compressed air downstream is used and the pressure drops to the load setting the pilot closes and depressurises the unloader valve.
- The unloader valve then closes, the pressure begins to build again and the cycle is repeated.

- These unloader valves protect the compressor pump from the strain of working against pressure during startup, putting less stress on the pump and increasing its operating life.
- The pilot valve maintains a set pressure range while the engine continues to run in between the cycles of the pump.
- The check valve prevents backflow as the compressor builds pressure.
- These valves withstand a maximum temperature and pressure of 400 degrees F and 250 psi, respectively.
