Ratcheting Cable Cutter
Burndy ratchet cable cutters are designed to cut copper, ACSR and aluminium conductors with minimum cable distortion. They feature heavy-duty steel blades and a quick-release, bi-directional ratchet mechanism for positive blade control and are capable of cutting cables up to 556 kcmil. Choose from a wide range of these cutters, available in 10.5 and 20 inch lengths.
Raptor Supplies also offers cable cutters featuring specialized latch head design allowing interference-free closure for mid-span cuts.
Working Mechanism
- Ratchet cable cutters work by ratcheting an instrument that moves the blades together, making it cut through the material.
- Ratchet cable cutters are used by placing the object to be cut between the cutter's blades and squeezing the handles.
- The blades automatically move closer to one another as the ratcheting mechanism cuts through the material.
- After releasing the handles, the user can move the cutter to the material piece for cutting.
Features
- BURNDY RCC Series cable cutters have patented steel blades for durability and impact resistance.
- They feature a quick-releasing bi-directional ratchet mechanism for precise cutting with fewer cables distortion.
- These ratchet cable cutters further feature rapid blade operation for enhanced cutting performance on edges.
- These cable cutters provide a cutting capacity ranging from 500 to 1000 kcmil for aluminium and 350 to 1000 kcmil for copper cables.
