Coalescing Filter Elements
SPEEDAIRE coalescing filter elements are intended to force small droplets to crash into other droplets and coalesce into larger drops. They consist of several progressive layers which separate solid particles to liquid molecules from a gas flow. These filter elements feature a microglass media rated for 0.01-micron filtration. Choose between compressed air filter and pneumatic types of these filter elements, available on Raptor Supplies.

Coalescing Filters (Oil Removing)
Texas Pneumatic Tools coalescing compressed air filters trap dirt particles and other impurities that can prevent air compressors from operating at their peak performance. They also eliminate moisture & provide good compressor airflow rates up to 770 cfm, as well as improve air pressure for machinery maintenance & auto painting applications. They feature metal with sight glass filter bowls for clear visibility of the oil droplets and come with internal, external or manual drain valves to filter small particles, thereby protecting the environment from pollution.

Filter Element, Coalescing
Wilkerson coalescing filter elements are used for removing water, oil vapor and other contaminants from a compressed air line. These coalescing filters offer high-quality compressed air with a little loss of pressure, and are tough enough to retain their shape even under pressure differentials (avoid collapsing of the filter element). Choose from a broad range of these Wilkerson coalescing filter elements available in 1 and 0.3 micron ratings on Raptor Supplies.

Coalescing Filter Elements
Raptor Supplies is an authorised distributor of Speedaire, Parker, Solberg and Wilkerson filter elements suitable for removing oil, water and other soluble particles from compressed air. Selected pneumatic line filters from Speedaire feature a lightweight aluminium housing and a porous carbon filter for withstanding pressures up to 235 PSI and temperatures up to 122 degrees F. For additional durability, these units come reinforced with epoxy-coated steel wire and dual-sided metal support for ensuring complete protection against accidental drops and damage.
Working Mechanism
- The fluid enters the filter at the inlet and passes through the first layer of filter media. This first layer removes large particles and debris, such as dirt and dust, from the fluid.
- The fluid then flows through the second layer of filter media (made of synthetic fibres). These fibres are highly porous and have a high surface area, which allows them to capture & hold small droplets and particles.
- As the fluid flows through the filter media, the droplets and particles come into contact with the fibres and are held in place by mechanical & electrostatic forces. The droplets and particles then come together to form larger droplets.
- Finally, the fluid passes through the last layer of filter media, separating the fluid from the droplets and particles captured by the filter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do coalescing filter elements have multiple layers?
Coalescing filter elements have multiple layers to remove particles of different sizes. The first layer removes the big particulate and the second layer removes the droplets with high efficiency.
Are coalescing filter elements the same as oil-removing filters?
Coalescing filter elements remove small droplets or particles of oil and other liquids from a fluid, while oil-removing filters remove oil from compressed air & other gases.
What is coalescing?
Coalescing refers to the process of small droplets or particles in a fluid coming into contact with a filter media and merging to form larger droplets or particles that can be easily removed from the fluid.
